I finally did it

We all have something about us that we like the most. I love my hair. I have typical mallu hair and what that means is a head full of wavy hair. I wrote this post about how I would never cut my hair.

Earlier this year I decided that I was going to donate my hair. I read about couple of organizations and I decided on an organization called Beautiful Lengths. This organization makes wigs and gives them to women who have lost their hair during cancer treatment.

So finally this weekend, I went ahead and cut 10 inches of my hair and now I have short hair. I'm not liking my short hair yet, it takes a little getting used too.

Here is a picture of my chopped off hair.

What a coincidence! I met another friend (who has beautiful hair) only yesterday who had also given away her hair for the same cause. You girls rock :-)!

I don't know what it is like to let go of a part of your or what you consider a part of your identity like you mentioned Mallu hair, but I salute you for the cause that you have. It is nice to know people think of others too. It is rare and precious.

I had never known these kind of organizations are present. It was thoughtful enough for you to donate...Keep doing in different ways..

Me too - at some extremely odd hour! Yup, got to agree - I am not completely satisfied with the book either(the last chapter esp was kinda odd I thought). Maybe I need to read it again with a less sleepy mind.

Good point :-)! I was thinking about the same thing this morning - I don't remember reading abt it either. Did she marry Neville?

Also, they don't say what happened to the rest of the Wesleys... or did they?

it is not hair donation it is soul donation.because the mallu hairs are grown in their soul.

I came across this blog while blog-hopping. It is actually a great feeling to donate hair. There is another organization that is for a similar cause, only difference is the hair is used for the kids with cancer. It is called 'Locks of Love'. I have pledged to do this everytime I decide to cut my hair. Grow 10-12 inches and cut again.

Kudos to you for taking this big step.

you have way too time on your hand to cut the hair and then take a pic and post it on the web...
